A trip in the clouds

After approximately 80 seconds or less, she has gone against gravity to move upwards into the air. Up and up, she feels the pressure and the feeling isn't the most comfortable as the plane tilts upwards. The engine is loud and the wind is strong on the outside.

Staring out the window, the ground decreases in size. From her view, roads doesn't seem as complicated anymore as a sort of pattern forms and she tries to make a shape or picture out of it. She gives up.

Then the adventure begins. Imaginations went wild and hopes started to form. As the plane goes higher, she sees a flat layer of light cotton as if the earth has an invisible ceiling. Seconds later, there's just no more green to be seen...white cotton was everywhere. As it cleared, the blue sky appeared once again and more and more puffs of clouds came into the scene and her eyes hurt from staring outside for too long.

A few minutes later, she couldn't help but look again. The sky felt like the scariest place to be as there was no end in sight. The only option to do was to talk to God and tell Him the fears and uncertainty in her heart and also how amazing it is that the sky looks infinite and also the fact that traveling by air is no big deal.

The view was awesome. She wished she could open her window and reach out to grab a few puffs of clouds and keep it in an air tight container. Then again, clouds are not solids, it's shape can't be contained in anything...*sighs* so there goes the imagination. But the view of the enormous groups of them still amazed her, which brought her back to a world of her own. The temptation  to bounce on them and lie on them to feel a cool sensation grew strong. She sighs one more time and thanked the Lord for the amazing picture.

The clouds were so thick and so blindingly white. It hurt to stare but it was just so amazing. People say "take a picture, it'll last longer", and she did. It didn't look as real but it was good enough. Satisfied by the scenery, she pulled down the window shade to keep the sunlight away.

The flight back wasn't as awesome since there were hardly any clouds and the daylight was decreasing. The sky was getting darker and it just didn't look as attractive. As the sun began to set more, the sky turned colourful. This scene gave a really romantic and soothing feel. The colours blended and merged together so well it looks as though someone had just painted a piece of art using watercolour. I wished i could produce a picture on paper that looked exactly like that. The picture on camera looked fake. The lighting was different and the colours didn't look as soft. I longed for a really cool camera that could capture the real thing.

When the outside was pitch dark, dots of lights on land had me thinking for a moment that "Hey! those look like stars in the sky!".

When the plane touched down, i thanked God for bringing me home safe and sound. I'm glad to be back where i don't feel so alien and have to speak chinese all the time. hahaha.

Note to self : Air asia, tsk tsk tsk..
