Entering the world of Work

Ah! The joy of kiddos!

My first day and i thank God that everything went okay. No feelings of awkward-ness and discomfort.

At 8am, i was told to do gate duty. Saw the teachers do what i missed doing : Opening doors and carrying bags for primary school children back in Sri Sempurna. What a privilege.

Anways, what i had to do? scan the temperature of the kiddos. hehe. It doesnt look as scary as the PINK gun the guard used in college.

So this is what the children do first thing : Clean hands with sanitizer, then get their forehead scanned (ooo, blue light) before going to their classes.

It was a good way of warming up, at least all of them have seen me already early in the morning..haha. Out of ALL the children, ONE girl marched up to me and asked "What is your name?". Whoa, i was pretty surprised, but pleased to know this girl had such an awesome attitude! (secure-attachment parenting style, i thought). Yup, psych is applicable. =)

In their schedule today, they had a time for exercise, dance, snack, chinese, BM, english and maths. I watched them learning mandarin and thought, "wow, i can loose to kindi children in this subject wei! " hahaha.

So, my task here is to help 2 students from a particular class who are the slower learners (one was absent and the other(Jeremy, a LEFTYYY!!!!!!) left early due to his runny nose). I'm determined and praying that somehow, i will be able to help them.

I was introduced as Miss Lynette. Not AUNTY! (as a friend teased me). I'm surprised they remember my name. One thing about mixing with children this age, most of them don't close themselves up, which helped me ease up too. I stuck with that one class throughout the day, talking to the class teacher and be among the students during class times.

Since the 2 students were not there, i was given a random task to do to keep me busy. Drawing lines in exercise books. You know...where the children write the day and date and title..about 5cm each line...haha..at least i had something to do.

Oh, a funny/interesting thing happened. During maths period, i was helping a boy count and when he finally got it, i praised him saying "See? you are smart, you can do it already". His response fascinated me, "because i eat Smarties". I wanted to laugh out loud but he didn't mean it in a Lame way so...oh well. Kept excitement to self. So cute la.

This school teaches them manners. They wish the teachers Good morning when they arrive at school and make sure they wished before they leave. Hygiene was definitely important too. After snack time, students were told to get a cloth to wipe the tables. They enjoyed it. Colour pencils and pencil boxes were placed nicely on the shelves.

Well, I'm glad i felt quite at ease throughout the day. I wish i could be there longer though..children have this thing which captures the hearts of people. *warm and fuzzy feeling*. Thank God it's all good. I got this job without complications and the teachers there and welcoming. What more can i ask for? It's my first job ever.

They have assembly tomorrow!! Looking forward to another day in Peter & Jane kindi.

Music and movies can do such wonders!

Ah, korean drama = emotion disturbance. haha. And i shall stop there. Enough for the hols. 

Pretty interesting how music and movement can affect people when we know they're doing it in front of cameras and they're Not real. *sigh* 

I tried explaining to my sister about a certain melody or part in a song which made me like it. And i found it unexplainable. Just 2 seconds of change in key or melody can do that to me! Amazing! Music can do wonders and i myself wonder why i don't appreciate it to the max. hehe. 

Anyways, i watched Despicable me today!!!! it was awesome! couldn't stop laughing almost the whole time. I think it's been awhile since i watched a movie and not had Enough. I was a lil'  'aww man' when it ended. Friends in church have been repeating a quote which i finally, Finally got to watch the scene....     

"IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIIEEEE!!!!" 

It's a must must watch people!!!!! 

So far so good

What have i been doing these few days? 

On Saturday i attended a church related dinner. One crazy thing i had to do, forced to do was to put a garland of red flowers over the guest singer there. Which was really wrong i thought because....i felt it was supposed to be for the older women la..come on, he's the asian elvis. haha. So i was, not to say humiliated really but....wah the number of church members there..*smacks forehead*. I did Not just do that, i thought. sigh. Kena paksa.....his reaction was pretty weird too since i was the first one to do it. He pulled back for a second..oh man....why couldn't he have been a young and good looking guy eh? *raise arms* i know i know...im Just saying alright? haha..well at least i was NOTICED that night...in such a way. 

I watched Inception on sunday with a few friends from youth. I almost didn't get to go due to transportation complications but mum's friend's son drove me there....felt kinda bad but was really thankful. If not, no Inception for me  =(. So he told me it was a dream in a dream in a dream in a dream. YES, it stopped there. haha. A lil' confusing but it was good. No regrets! 

Went for a small reunion dinner with primary friends invited by a teacher...another challenge i managed to pull through! Thank You God!!! 

 

Today! i watched eclipse with Sue Jern for FREE!!!!!! cinelesiure gave 7500 tickets for free today. How awesome is that?!!! selected movies but its FREEEEE!!!! haha. Met Priscilla there and Ken ming too... So,the movie was better than the second one but could have been better...oh well..free tickets remember? I had a good time, freezing in there. hehehe.   

Friday shall be....

The last day i sleep at 2am to Study

The day i will BUM kau and watch movies i bought!!!!! (Self control was sooo hard this week)

The last day i shall be in college for studying purposes

The day i shall smile all i want

The day i will start clearing my Panda eyes

The day I say bye bye to finals!!!!!!

I'm tired,

Lack of sleep,

No concentration to study,
